Chapter 1 Intrusion of a Strange Man
"Get Married?!"
Claire Bennett is shocked and stares at the middle-aged woman wearing a luxurious cheongsam. She is Claire's stepmother, Jade Bennett!
"Right!"Jade Bennett says, "It's your father's idea that you are not young anymore and it's time to get married!"
"Let me get married? I just turned 20 years old this year!"Claire Bennett roars. She doesn't expect that her stepmother gives her such a "generous gift" upon her arriving home.
What's she plotting?
Claire Bennett sneers, "Then you tell me, what kind of person did my dad find to be my husband? Or I should say, what kind of husband did you find for me?"
Jade chuckles sardonically, "It's alright to tell you, your fiance is Leo Howard, the president of Orient International Group! It is your honor to marry into the Howard family. Your father has worked so hard to obtain this chance for you, so you should cherish this it!"
Jade wouldn't give her this chance if the engagement was truly good. She might bear consipiracy behind it!
"No matter who he is, I will not marry him!"
"You won't? Your father is would be the first person to disagree with your decision! You have to know that it's not up to you whether you want to marry into the Howard family. The consequences of breaking the engagement are too much for you little girl."
"Well, since I can take on the consequence, I'll talk to my dad!"Claire is going to leave here after she finishes speaking.
"Your father is on a medical treatment and should not be disturbed. Besides, your father's physical condition is not as good as before. If you are filial, then don't irritate him, so that he can recover soon. But if you refuse to get married, who knows whether his condition would get worsened by getting mad at you. By then, don't blame me for not reminding you if your father dies!"
